What will happen to Ukraine? What awaits us next? I think that hostilities will resume when Putin considers that Ukraine has weakened enough in one or another point. It doesn’t matter, if it’s the fall of the Hryvna, the rise in prices or problems paying for gas.

Therefore, we must now use the time of the so-called ceasefire to get organized by regions. People who understand, that apart from themselves, there is no one to protect them, will have to organize themselves, to connect with others, to create a territorial defence system. You need to fully recover those parts which have suffered loss, to train one’s own fighters to the max. And, together, to unite to put pressure on the regime.

Because endlessly listening to stories that the “boilers” are formed by themselves, erasing them from the memory of people by diversionary maneuvers in the information space – is not possible.

Yes, we all want peace, but most of us probably already have the desire for peace at any cost. But even such people now have the perception that Russia today is a predator that will take as much as we give.

Let’s become strong. And then there will be peace.

Army volunteer: Trying to get warm on the frontlines

By Yuriy Kasyanov, volunteer, Army SOS

Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

Behind the forest line, through the field across from our furthest most checkpoint on the road from Debaltseve to Luhansk, an enemy cannon began its deadly work around four o’clock in the afternoon.

[It was done] brazenly, within about 1 ½ to 2 km from our positions. Everyone got used to the rattle of small arms from the closest little forest a long time ago; the checkpoint snarls back with short bursts of “zushka” (ZU-23–twin-barrelled 23-millimeter anti-aircraft gun), and then–a [hit] with a large caliber… The “Take cover!” command, and five seconds later, we stopped up the cracks with concrete slabs like anchovies in a can… But the projectiles landed far behind us–in the city. The ceasefire…

We crawled back out and continued to distribute the “humanitarian aid.” Thermal underwear, socks, pants, sweaters, raincoats… There was not enough for everyone; after the “ceasefire” announcement, the [monetary] donations to the frontlines decreased by tenfold… The soldiers are trying to get warm in the clumsy army pea jackets, which cease to keep in the heat after the first rain. Half the people have caught a serious cold… And the Defense Ministry reports that [our] army is 90% ready for winter… We brought binoculars, rangefinders, weather stations, navigators and navigation tablets–the guys are as excited about these “toys” as children are with Christmas gifts…

The military department gave vehicles without batteries; a truck of half-rotten cabbage and a half-truck of carrots in the same condition, and an old cannon gun for the entire division [Editor’s note: A division is composed of 2-4 batteries, ie.: 12-24 guns]…. But that’s another story.

 Operational data from Information Resistance:

In the combat zone in Donbas, Russian-terrorist troops continue an intensive shelling of the positions of Ukrainian troops. In 24 hours, 72 instances of attacks were recorded. The shelling was mostly from mortars (27 attacks) and cannon artillery (16 attacks), the enemy continues to actively use MRLS (6 bombardments).

The most difficult situation is in the settlements of Donetsk, Mariinka, Trudviske, Krasnohorivka, Pisky, Chornukhyne, Debaltseve, Popasna, Nykyhyno, Maloorlivka, Hranitne, Shchastya, Smile, Stanitsa, Mariupol, Luhansk.

In the raion [district] of Smile, there was an attack on a convoy of Ukrainian troops; the attack was repulsed. Later in the same area, there was an assault with firearms on an ATO [anti-terrorism operation] headquarters vehicle.

Attacks by insurgents on civilian objectives continue. According to preliminary data, in the past 24 hours, 2 civilians were killed and 3 wounded.

In the village of Debaltseve a group of insurgents tried to capture the electrical power supply substation with firearms. The attack was repelled.

In the Olhinka-Hranitne district, Ukrainian troops have completed the formation of a line of defense capable of providing defense in the directions of Volnovakha, although in this area (e.g. Novotroitske, Hranitne) there continues to be recorded activity of DRG [Russian sabotage and intelligence units] enemy shelling onto the positions of Ukrainian troops.

In the coastal area (near Mariupol), active raiding and reconnaissance actions of the Russian-terrorist forces have been recorded. The checkpoints and outposts of Ukrainian forces in the villages of Mariupol, Sartana, and Lebedynske were shelled by cannon artillery and mortar fire.

In Stakhanov, insurgents began to conduct searches in local schools. All Ukrainian symbols are being destroyed. The terrorist leadership promises that all Ukrainian literature will be removed, and instead, Russian textbooks will be imported.

Russian soldier Khoma in Donbas

A paratrooper from Pskov has fully documented the movement of Russian military equipment across the Ukrainian border and the participation of Russian and Chechen servicemen in the war with Ukrainians.

In the social networks, more evidence appeared that Russian troops are fighting in Ukraine. This time, writes blogger Anton Pavlushko on his Facebook page, a Russian soldier has posted photos on social networks in which the movements of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine can be seen, reports Obozrevatel [Observer].

“Sooner or later, it had to come to the surface. Killers return home and begin to put out evidence of their atrocities in Ukraine. Here is Vadim Khoma, 23, from Pskov. He recently returned from Ukraine, as he reported to his readers: home !!!” –writes Pavlushko.

2

As the blogger notes, it may very well be that “Vadim Khoma” is just an alias, because it is the nickname of a soldier in the social network “VKontakte:” “dmirsaev” = D. Mirsaev or D. Mirzaev. The profile is clearly not new, having been active since 2013.

“Khoma/Mirzaev has not been home for a long time and decided to post his photos with comments. Apparently, he always has an iPhone and small resolution photographs that are inverted.” –said Pavlushko.

3

The first two photos are from Russian Donetsk. These are the vehicles ready to go into Ukraine at any moment.

4

5

Next come the photos from Ukraine signed “there, already near Dolzhansky.”

6

“We continue on from Dolzhansky in the Sverdlovsk region, Ukraine:

“Near Dolzhansky! And then Luhansk and Donetsk!! and then RUSSIA!!” – Commented the soldier on the photo:

7

Then the soldier publishes a photo from the Savur Mohyla with the comment: “a gift from the Ukrov [slang for bloody Ukrainians]!! near the Savur-Mohyla”:

8

He also published a photo with the words: “There are also ‘guys from Chechnya’ there :)))”

9

Next, a Russian soldier is photographed against the background of graffiti in a Ukrainian village: 28th OMBR [Separate Mechanized Brigade] settlement. “It was photographed long ago, and finally appeared on the Internet :))),” –writes Khoma:

10

Later he posts the photo, pointing out that it was taken in the Shakhtarsk Raion [district]. “The guys from the Checkpoint North,” adds the Pskov paratrooper.

11

Following that, in his profile is a picture of a murdered Ukrainian soldier with the following comment: “This is the militia’s handywork, we got here later. Total of 35 Ukrov killed, 3 captured, Rusych [a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance unit] worked here… why do they even need us?”

“I won’t post the photography, it’s all too graphic,” says the Ukrainian blogger.

Also, the Russian soldiers posted a photo that shows various tools, cutters, and knives, with the comment: “And now to the Stanytsia-Luhanska region,”here’s what we’re bringing with us against the Ukrov :)).”

“And so that no one says that this is a fake web account and the author forged everything, I’m posting screenshots of his photographs and account in the VKontakte website – Here’s a hero from Pskov, be it Khoma or Mirzaev,” – summed up the blogger Anton Pavlushko.

[Translator’s Note: “VKontakte” has proven to be a source of evidence for many documented war crimes as well as the presence of Russian troops in Ukraine].
