Meet Vasyl, a gourmet chef from a Truskavets resort. Now, this man prepares a variety of  feasts, but not for vacationers or tourists. He feeds the wounded [servicemen] and the medical staff of the 66th Mobile Hospital, which is now located near the advanced positions of our troops. This is where ambulances bring our wounded [servicemen] directly from the battlefield.

After receiving a draft notice, this successful master of various delicacies has easily exchanged the ambience of a posh restaurant for the harsh conditions of a military field kitchen. He has already grown accustomed to the cannonade. Even here, [Vasyl] attempts to pamper everyone with delicious restaurant meals, with a very limited selection of products. For instance, he baked an absolutely unsurpassed apple pie for the entire personnel [while] testing the oven.

– In all truthfulness, I love to cook borshch – says Vasyl. – Our regular, Ukrainian borshch. I cook it using our family recipe. Seeing people eat it with gusto makes me very happy.

According to Vasyl, when he received a draft notice, he never considered not joining the army. On the contrary, he immediately responded to the request. He believes that every person, who respects themselves, must become a piece in the wall of the state defense, especially in difficult times.

Yury Kasyanov: Separatists left Debaltseve for new front

Searching for separy [Ed. Note – separatists]. They are gone. Took off from many positions in the vicinity of Debaltseve, where gunfire rattled just yesterday, and shootouts won’t mollify. Left so many of the settlements. Silence…

No, the horde has not perished. The enemy is concentrating forces in other parts of the front. [The enemy] is preparing a new offensive and new encirclements. Where?.. We will locate them. [We will] find out.

P.S. Now, almost without a fight, we could take half of our occupied lands from the enemy. But no – we have another round of “peace” [Ed. Note – ceasefire]; while Putin readies the orcs for a new war.

US-Entscheidung über die Waffenlieferungen an die Ukraine

http://sprotyv.info/ru/news/13401-v-blizhayshie-dni-reshitsya-vopros-o-predostavlenii-ukraine-oruzhiya-kerri

March 1st Moscow march and Global Day of Action campaigns #FreeSavchenko

By Voices of Ukraine
02.21.2015

"Spring"

“Spring”

On March 1st the weather in Moscow is expected to be 1C with plenty of sunshine – a good day for a large show of support at the Moscow anti-crisis march, with or without its Russian opposition figurehead, political activist Alexei Navalny who was jailed on February 19 for 15 days for violating the “procedure for holding assemblies, rallies and demonstrations” while he handed out leaflets in the Moscow metro advertising the demonstration, called simply “Spring.” He tweeted the entire circus, his selfie photos of it showing 15 policemen there to arrest him. The Spring protesters are calling on the Kremlin to revise some of its economic decision making.

Activists from around the world will also be participating in a Global Day of Action to demand that Putin free Ukrainian political prisoner, pilot and MP Nadiya Savchenko who is in fact a prisoner of war but is currently being held hostage by the Kremlin without release. March 1st will mark her 79th day on hunger strike to protest her illegal kidnapping into Moscow after her June 18th capture in Luhansk, Ukraine, the false accusations against her despite having a solid alibi, her imprisonment since then without charges, her court date being again delayed recently until May 13, a date she quite certainly can’t last to see.

On the previous January 26th Global Day of Action, 54 cities around the world hit the streets or their local Russian embassies to demonstrate visibly in support of Savchenko’s immediate release.

Please join in fighting for Nadiya’s freedom!

• Tweet #FreeSavchenko
• Stage a demonstration, it doesn’t have to be at a Russian embassy, it could be in a public place where you live
• Contact your media and request to be interviewed or for them to do a story on Nadiya. The more the world speaks out for her, the greater her chances to live!
• Write or tweet to politicians to urge them to speak out for her release.

#FreeSavchenko on March 1st event Facebook page

Time is very seriously running out now.

Nadiya Savchenko’s appeal letter to PACE #FreeSavchenko

By Nadiya Savchenko, via her Lawyer Nikolai Polozov
02.19.2015
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

Appeal

To the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
From a member of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in PACE
Savchenko Nadiya Viktorivna

I ask you to facilitate and send to the Russian Federation [RF] an independent commission of doctors from Ukraine, Germany, and other countries willing to participate in my examination in Russian prisons. I also ask you to make an effort to ensure unimpeded visitation by doctors of the independent commission to SIZO-1, where I am held in Russia.

I ask to create this commission for my examination because my life is at risk after losing up to 55-50 kilograms [121-110 lbs].

I emphatically forbid forcibly removing me from the hunger strike on the territory of Russia, because the Russian government and the Investigative Committee of the RF want to conceal the results of crimes against me on the Russian [territory], in the event of an unsuccessful attempt to end my hunger strike and my [subsequent] death.

I allow my removal from the hunger strike and my rehabilitation only in hospitals of Ukraine or another European country.

I ask you to create this commission under the auspices of PACE with OSCE observers.

I will continue my hunger strike until the day I am back in Ukraine or until the day of my death in Russia, because I was illegally kidnapped from the territory of Ukraine, [I was] illegally taken, against my will, to Russia; [I was] illegally detained in Russian prisons in the presence of an alibi and false accusation of crimes I have not committed.

02.19.2015             [Signed]             Nadiya Savchenko
