======================================

Babylon’13 director: A little about Donetsk separatists

By Cristian Jereghi, Babylon’13 director
04.26.2014 Facebook
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

Let me tell you a little about Donetsk separatists.

First of all, they are the same–both in Donetsk and Crimea. I have no doubt that they were the same in Transnistria, too. I couldn’t even record [new video] today.

They already told me everything in Crimea in this video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-wCNSkKWaM [in Russian].

They are the same. Ignorant, poorly informed, fooled by propaganda, unhappy people. I am talking about those of them who do not walk around with a Russian AK in Sloviansk and fraternize with the GRU agents in Kramatorsk.  You should understand: there is a “center”–an ideological core, and there is the cannon fodder on the edge of the parabola. I mean them. They drink tea, use the bathroom, and in general were probably born to a Mom and a Dad, and did not arrive on the charter flight Kremlin-Venus-Donetsk.

If you set aside all ideological differences, and simply forget for a second that they exist–those psychological and emotional mechanisms that keep happening in their heads do not differ from the ones our Maidan self-defense have experienced.

The paranoia level is off the charts. The level of fear and adrenaline–is up there as well. The fighter jets over their heads have done their job. These people are afraid. When the fear melts into an icy indifference, then they will not care how and when they should die.

Hero complex? Maybe so.

One more thing I’ve found out today: not all separatists generally want to be in Russia. Moreover, some of them are categorically against Russia. And they are truly afraid that Poo [Vladimir Putin] will come over and grab Donetsk. But they are even more afraid of the arrival of the Right Sector and its slaughter. I asked all of them in turn: guys, what makes you so different from the Right Sector? No one responded to me.

Strange as it may seem, but they could have cared less about the issue of Russian language.

I will say what makes them tick. Their psychology is very much like a childhood grudge. “How is it that they have decided everything without us (!!?) there, in Kyiv, and there they will all be well (!?), and we will get nothing at all? How could they divide the pie without us?” Why are those who were on Maidan heroes–and here we are called terrorists?

Well, it goes something like that.

And while they prepare their tea with condensed milk on the wood stove, they make Ramen noodles in a teakettle for three, anxiously listen to the raucous radio, and hope that someone will bring them to a happy, Banderite-free future.

The tour continues.

Dmitry Tymchuk’s Military Blog: Summary – April 29, 2014

Dmitry Tymchuk, Information Resistance

04.29.2014
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

10173325_481968728598454_1124228004_nBrothers and sisters,

Here’s the Summary for April 29, 2014 (for the previous day’s summary, please see the Summary for April 28).

First of all, please forgive me that I “fell out” of the information space–I am now constantly on the move. Once again, we are actively monitoring the situation in the regions, I think tomorrow we will give an IR group statement. The situation is simply breathtaking.

The bad news:

1. Luhansk and Pervomaisk are currently under the flags of pro-Russian extremists. Luhansk Oblast [region] threatens to completely repeat the fate of Donetsk. Kharkiv region is next in line.

If the Ukrainian government initially intended to give up the East, then they should gather all their will into a fist and say one word to Moscow–”take it away!” In the manner of the film character in “Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession.”

If there is even a hint of desire to fight for the East, one should not hide that inclination. Show it by doing at least some action. Don’t be shy.

It is necessary to understand that if the vampires under the Russian flag hold their “referendums” (which Putin will, of course, immediately admit–otherwise why would he have started all this fuss?), then the fight for the East will be a hundred times harder. Because it will not be a struggle with Russian henchmen, but with Russia itself.

Luhansk today:

2. Oleksandr Turchynov [acting President of Ukraine] found out the guilty in the separatist Sabbath. He suddenly uncovered (I say, what a prompt epiphany!) “inaction, helplessness, and sometimes criminal betrayal by the employees of law enforcement agencies in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.” In Turchynov’s words, “this is one of the main causes of low effectiveness and poor performance by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.”

I can’t understand–is Turchynov using such delicate banter that I cannot decipher it, or did he previously just turn a blind eye? Simple people like Uncle Vasya, a plumber in Zhmerynka and Aunt Dunya, a cleaning lady in Iljichiovsk, have realized the presence of sabotage on the part of security forces on the ground two months ago. And our acting President has identified and revealed this phenomenon just now.

The RNBO sang the same song before Turchynov today. They obviously conspired.

Therefore, instead of starting to urgently solve this problem in the beginning of, or mid-March, the RNBO and the President have bothered to realize its existence only in late April. How could they even start and carry out the anti-terrorist operation, without being properly informed about the situation in the region? It’s some kind of idiocy.

3. According to the data of our Information Resistance group, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, Mariupol and Berdyansk should expect the separatists scenario that has been enacted today in Luhansk. I am not in the least bit optimistic that Ukrainian authorities will react to this threat.

The good news. There’s crazy little of it:

1. U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt said that the U.S. would react instantly to Russian troops crossing into the Ukrainian border, and that the consequences will be dramatic. This post–is primarily in support of our boys from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now standing along the border with Russia. In front of them–Putin’s armadas, on their butts are Putin’s mutts. The reassuring promises of the West clearly won’t hurt [the situation].

2. And yet, the West, without any haste and in no rush, drives Putin into a dead end. “Gazprom” acknowledged that the sanctions could lead to a “loss of confidence of international investors” in the Russian economy. Just yesterday, they [the Russians] mocked those sanctions. Today comes a sobering up. It is a pity that our extremists become intoxicated from permissiveness faster than Putin sobers up.

Poroshenko refutes allegations of National Guards handing in weapons in Luhansk

chornajuravka's avatarEuromaidan PR

por

Presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko has refuted the mass media’s claims about National Guard fighters handing in their weapons at the demand of the terrorists seizing the Luhansk Regional Administration in a facebook post.

Some mass media have spread not accurate information about the National Guard fighters from Vinnitsya handing in their weapons during the attack of separatists on the Luhansk Regional Administration. Indeed, 150 National Guards were blocked inside the building.

I contacted the commander by phone. It turns out that under pressure of physical violence the separatists demanded the guards give in their weapons. But NOT ONE guard had accepted the terrorists’ demands and DID NOT HAND IN THEIR ARMS!
Having received an order to retreat, they had broken through the encirclement and now are situated in one of the zones of the Luhansk Oblast under National Guard control.
