As the Deputy to the Defence Minister of the Russian Federation Yuriy Borisov noted, such a position of Ukraine “adds to Russia’s problems” in servicing the equipment engaged in defence, in particular, helicopters, the engines for which were produced in Ukraine. Meanwhile Borisov noted that the process of import replacement is underway in Russia.

The forces and means involved in carrying out the anti-terrorist operation [ATO] in the defined area [of the ATO] continue to perform tasks to previously defined plans.
To perform the tasks involves a sufficient number of personnel and military equipment.
The ATO task forces are to restore calm and order in the region; the goal is to block, and if there is refusal to surrender weapons, to destroy, the terrorists.
ATO forces do not apply force against the civilian population of the region, our mission is to restore peace in East Ukraine, and to ensure the safety of the civilian population.
Terrorists, sensing imminent retribution for their actions, are trying to leave the area of the ATO, and are shooting up checkpoints that block the departure of terrorists.
So, last night the terrorists again fired at a block post of Ukrainian security forces in the suburb of Sloviansk, and firing in response to the assault by terrorists has ended.
During last night, about 200 armed men fired machine guns and grenade launchers at the Ukrainian border control post [on the southern edge] of Luhansk. Simultaneously, from positions in the multistoried apartment buildings across from the border post, snipers aimed fire at the border guards. As a result, among the guards are some wounded, they have been provided with medical assistance.
Border guards fired back in response. Aviation aid was sent to help the ATO forces, which performed the task of fighting the problem and dispersed the terrorists.
