Brothers and sisters!

information_resistance_logo_engHere’s the Summary for July 31, 2014 (for previous summary, please see Summary for July 30).

The bad news:

1. Today is “a day of silence” in the ATO zone, declared at the request of the UN Secretary General, to ensure that international experts can work in the area of the Malaysian airliner crash.

It came as a surprise to no-one that, in reality, this “day of silence” was only observed by the ATO forces, which carried out no active operations today, and only repelled attacks made against their positions. While terrorists battered [them] with everything they had and from everywhere they could.

Been there, done that–case in point, the “truce” of June 20-30th. If anyone in the world still wondered whether Putin’s insurgents give a damn about any truce (or the opinions of the international community, or basic moral and ethical norms), here is your answer, once again. We, on our part, had no doubts [about the insurgents].

2. The next stage of mobilization in Ukraine comes with new oddities. We are receiving signals that representatives of recruitment offices are handing out recruitment summons to all and sundry, and are being, to put it mildly, overly persistent about it.

Here, one must understand that the summons itself does not equal being sent off to the army. Enlistment offices don’t just call on those who will join the ranks when mobilized–they also “ring out” [check up on] other individuals liable for military service. Naturally, the Ministry of Defense should be constantly explaining all of this at the “top” level, while the military enlistment office [should be explaining it] locally, so as not to cause unnecessary commotion.

However, there are cases when the enlistment officers’ zeal gets way out of bounds. Each such case must be cleared up. Today, we discussed this with representatives of state agencies, and circulated a proposal to create a “hotline” on mobilization issues. Hopefully, the military authorities will welcome [this proposal], given how pressing the matter.

3. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine states [the following fact]: Russia conducts aerial reconnaissance using military aircraft and drones from the territories of Crimea and Transnistria.

Crimea is a no-brainer–it is an occupied area, and the Russians in that territory are the occupiers. But we must clearly make up our mind regarding Transnistria. For a long time, Ukraine has actively participated in resolving the “Transnistrian issue.” Kyiv has always considered, and continues to view Transnistria as a territory of Moldova, but it has always advocated that this issue be resolved purely by political means.

I think it’s [high] time we recognized that Transnistria is a formation that is hostile towards our state, being a territory from which Russia carries out actions against Ukraine (we must remember that in March 2014, before the border was blocked, this was exactly from where crowds of subversives crept into Ukraine). This is the Kremlin’s springboard for acting against our state.

In the future, Ukraine must make every effort to restore Moldova’s control over this territory. Without this [control], Transnistria is like a Russian landmine near Ukraine, biding its time until it blows.

 The good news:

1. Viktor Muzhenko, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced that the active phase of the ATO in eastern Ukraine might be over in less than a month. However, being a reasonable general, he did not specify any exact dates.

We would like to add our traditional clarification to his statement: [this can be the case] granted that the border is blocked and the flow of Russian aid to terrorists is stopped. Otherwise, such prediction is pure fantasy. But we believe in the best [outcome], since it’s about time to put an end to this blood-splattered circus where Vladimir Putin plays the ringmaster.

2. A humanitarian corridor has been set up for civilians to leave the city of Luhansk. ATO forces ensure a [safe] departure for the refugees. Preliminary filtering is done on the spot (the main criterion is that the departing [refugees] have no weapons).

The question of what would happen during the liberation of Luhansk and Donetsk has tormented many. Security officials already announced that they would not turn these cities into a blood bath, no matter what. But, better safe than sorry. It is easy to understand people who are eager to get away as far as possible from the terrorists who have dug themselves in [in the cities]. Especially given the insurgents’ habit to fire at urban neighborhoods and pass the shootings off as “crimes of the Ukrainian military.”

3. We’ve got to develop and adopt basic working documents in the field of national security and defense–namely, a new Strategy for national security, a Military doctrine, and concepts and state programs for development of the armed forces. But, according to our data, the security forces and intelligence services are already actively discussing measures aimed not only at the successful completion of the ATO, but also at protecting Ukraine from the Russians in the future.

In particular, against the backdrop of the current high effectiveness of the Army Special Forces currently operating in the ATO area, there is a proposal to form subversive and reconnaissance groups in Ukraine that would operate in the border areas with Russia. According to this proposal, they will be able to successfully deal with all kinds of “little green men” and Russian mercenaries transferred into the area.

In addition, it is proposed to actively form a base for guerrilla warfare in the border regions with Russia–creating secret communication points, bases, arsenals, food depots, ammunition and medical supply storages, etc. Accordingly, it is planned to consider the training of [military] reserve for guerilla units.

…Let’s just say that this is an adequate response to Putin’s “hybrid warfare.” Here’s to hoping that [we] have enough perseverance and understanding to make all this work.

July 31, 2014: 50-unit armored convoy entered Ukraine from Russia

Screen Shot 2014-07-31 at 8.55.08 AMANOTHER convoy of armored vehicles from the territory of the Russian Federation has entered Ukraine (passed through Sukhodilsk, Shoseyna Street).
———–
Early this morning, on July 31, a large convoy of armored vehicles, about 50 units (this is no exaggeration) passed through the town of Sukhodilsk [Luhansk Oblast]. According to our local sources, “We haven’t seen anything like this before, convoys have passed through before, but in much smaller numbers.”

Judging from this, we can already say that Russia brought its troops into Ukraine without a declaration of war. In our previous reports, we warned about the urgent need to block the border in Krasnodon Raion [district] and the surrounding villages. This should be done not only in the area of the Izvaryne checkpoint  where the #OSCE representatives‪ may still be present, but also in the villages ‪of Parkhomenko, Popivka, and especially in the village of‪ Sjevernyi.

It is necessary not only to regain control of the highway through the village of Novosvitlivka and Novohannivka (before Luhansk), but also to secure our positions at this locale. A simple checkpoint of Ukrainian Armed Forces / National Guard won’t help against such large convoys. This is no longer an ATO, not from a long time ago, but an undeclared war.

Locals express bewilderment and sharply criticize the security command. For a better understanding of the situation, below is the direct speech of one of the locals who daily observes the influx of equipment from the‪ RF [Russian Federation]:

“It seems that [our] top security officials are interested in a protracted massacre since they don’t intend to block this source (Note: #Sukhodilsk , Sjevernyi, Popivka, and Parkhomenko) of daaaaaily passage of equipment from Russia for the third month in a row! This is an endless stream of reinforcements for terrorists! How can [we] reach and give a shoutout to the top?! We cannot call the phone numbers posted on their websites–they are being wiretapped. People keep writing and warning, but the ministers have zero reaction, and [they] probably don’t report to the President about such blunders, shaking in their office chairs, while the children are dying! And then [they] will again wonder where the tanks, APCs, Grads, Acacias, and vehicles with shells and mercenaries come through?!…”

We would like to emphasize immediately that this is not the only message about the equipment convoy consisting of 50 units passing through this area today. Moreover, there is information that this convoy is preparing to attack the #ATO forces…
————
Together we will win! Glory to Ukraine and death to [its] enemies!

This is the video of the convoy:

Russian terrorists are using ambulances for transport of personnel, arms and ammunition

By Vladislav Seleznev, spokesperson for the ATO

Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

14:20

As was previously reported, insurgents use ambulances to move personnel and transport arms and ammunition. Recently, military personnel who perform tasks within the ATO [anti-terrorist operation], detained a Peugeot brand ambulance at a checkpoint near the settlement of Tarany. The driver of the car did not comply with demands to stop the vehicle. The car was blocked by special means. In the car were 5 people (3 men and 2 women). During the inspection 2 tents, a Kalashnikov assault rifle AK-5.45, a pouch with two magazines and a large number of cartridges (in bulk) were found. Amongst the personal belongings were found three grenades (1 RGD-5 and 2 F-1). Among those detained is a Russian citizen, Kamille Valliullin, a resident of Ufa. In addition to this military equipment, the detainees were carrying video equipment (video recorder, camcorder, camera). Also found during the preliminary inspection of personal belongings was paraphernalia with symbols from the DNR [Donetsk People’s Republic] and other documents that are relevant to the DNR. Authorized officials are currently working with the detainees.

Dmitry Tymchuk’s Military Blog: Summary – July 30, 2014

Dmitry Tymchuk, Coordinator, Information Resistance
07.30.2014
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

Brothers and sisters!

information_resistance_logo_engHere’s the Summary for July 30, 2014 (for previous summary, please see Summary for July 29).

The bad news:

1. The SBU [Security Service of Ukraine] published the evidence that shellings onto the territory of Ukraine took place from Russia. The world must see this–especially those who still have doubts about the true murderous face of the Kremlin.

SBU evidence base showing Russian military terrorism:

The fact that this evidence is available is undoubtedly a positive [fact], but Russia responded in a peculiar way. As the Communist parliamentarian Vladimir Solovyov stated at the Russian Duma, Russia wants to impose restrictions on the soldiers’ use of the Internet. So that, the bastards, stopped posting the truth and did not interrupt the suit of professional liars like [Vladimir] Putin, [Sergei] Lavrov, [Vitaly] Churkin, [Sergei] Shoigu, [Dmitry] Kiselyov.

A Russian parliamentarian explained the initiative, saying that [Anatoliy] Serdyukov [former Defense Minister] destroyed the army, and that Shoigu [current Defense Minister] must still do a lot to “strengthen and improve discipline.” So the very fact that Russia is the aggressor (and simple Russian soldiers, out of stupidity, provide the evidence that Moscow denies as it foams at the mouth) does not bother the members of Russian Parliament. The most important [task] is to hide the truth. There is one word [for them]–monsters.

2. Starting tomorrow, [Ukrainian] security services along with Maidan activists launch a “hotline” in their joint fight against terrorism. People can inform the SBU 24/7, at 0-800-501-482, of any facts regarding suspicious persons in the region or the intent to carry out terrorist or subversive intelligence activities.

The very fact that such a [hot] line has been created is an absolutely right step. But, alas, it also serves as evidence that Ukraine is getting immersed in an atmosphere of total suspiciousness and fear of terrorism.

We have been challenged, and we will respond worthily. But I hate Putin for the fact that he, after initially throwing his own country into an abyss of terror, brought this fire into my country as well. I don’t want Ukrainians, like Russians, to be afraid to ride the subway or to think about a possible terrorist attack while going to a concert. And all because of a bunch of schizophrenics in the Kremlin.

3. In Donetsk, the remaining broadcasting Ukrainian TV channels were turned off. Previously, Ukrainian TV channels with news segments were disconnected, and the entertainment and business channels remained. Now all is filled with Russian propaganda.

…We say that Donbas welcomes the ATO forces that free its cities from terrorists. But let’s face it: very often, this [attitude] isn’t caused by the immense love of the Ukrainian flag, but an elementary fear and fatigue from the insurgents’ lawlessness. In the minds of the absolute majority of people in the region lies the same Russian garbage behind terms like “junta,” “fascists,” “Banderites.”

The terrorists know that if they don’t constantly keep heating this Kremlin hysteria up, they are done. Because objective information from Ukrainian TV channels is no less terrible an enemy than Ukrainian airborne troops to them. And after freeing our lands from the Russian decay, we should do a great deal to [make sure] that Ukrainian Donbas stops seeing the world through the eyes of the moral pervert Kiselyov.

The good news:

1. Security forces in the area of the ATO not only free cities and towns from Putin’s insurgents, but they immediately begin to restore the infrastructure too. To start with, the objects get defused–as you know, terrorists mine everything they can during their retreats. To date, sappers cleared 45 infrastructure objects in Donbas and neutralized over 3,300 explosive objects. Electricity has been completely restored in Sloviansk.

This is an apropos and needed symbol of the Ukrainian Army that not only brings freedom from terror and fear, but also a return to normal civilian life.

2. The Kremlin ordered to stop the supply of weapons to terrorists in eastern Ukraine. This was stated by a Russian State Duma parliamentarian, Ilya Ponomarev, who, by the way, is the only one [official] in Russian Parliament that voted against the annexation of Crimea by Russia.

The message is reassuring, but then Ponomarev made a trailblazing clarification, saying that “there are plenty of militaries in Russia, who feel compelled to help the “rebels,” that they can continue to supply them [terrorists] with weapons” even after Putin’s ban.

It is impossible to believe what Shoigu and his accomplices may disobey the godfather of all Russia. Although we do observe the following interesting picture. We have all the evidence that Russia is supplying weapons to terrorists and that it intensively shells the Ukrainian territory. But Moscow denies [doing this]. Taking into account Ponomarev’s statement, the conclusion suggests that this is all possible only if the Russian army… is not subordinate to the President and the Defense Minister.

Simply put, we are dealing with a military coup that is being extensively concealed by the Kremlin. The Russian army is waging war with Ukraine and supplies weapons to someone [terrorists], the FSB and the GRU conduct operations on the territory of Ukraine, and Moscow has no clue about this.

Well, there is every reason to believe that Putin doesn’t control the situation in his country. It is time to bring UN peacekeepers into Russia.

3. The NSDC [National Security and Defense Council] reported today that servicemen of Ukrainian military units who went to serve in the Armed Forces of Russia after the annexation of Crimea, were recognized as “prone to treason.” This entry is made in the personnel files of the traitors after their [Russian] certification results.

We talked about this back in March. Who would believe someone who has once betrayed already? [Being] a traitor is a mark for a lifetime, and no bootlicking or grovelling will wash it off.

ROMAN DONIK: Who are the people at the ATO headquarters?

By Roman Donik, army volunteer
07.28.2014
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

16914_598464550185510_1990294406_n

I rarely panic and even more rarely succumb to the panic of others.

But these last few days, I’ve been haunted by the feeling that there are, after all, either clinical idiots or just people at the ATO headquarters whose task is to destroy the best forces in the Ukrainian army.

Or at minimum, its best parts.

Last week, it was an assault on Avdiyivka, pushed by the headquarters.

The task amounted to the following–to remove people from three checkpoints and to storm Avdiyivka using their forces.

To expose the front, the rear, to leave under the threat of destruction the remaining checkpoint in the sands, but to shit storm it at any cost.

I do not know how it was possible to delay this decision, but it was somewhat modified.

They ordered to carve Avdiyivka out from Donetsk.

Now, the forces of the 93 Mechanized Brigade came under fire not only from Donetsk, but also from Yasynuvata.

They [Russians and/or pro-Russians] shell so much that it’s impossible to raise one’s head.

Do you think the generals said to divert the people? Fuck them.

They ordered to go in and clean up Avdiyivka. Slowly, block by block.

Where about 30% of the armored vehicles are in order, and half the personnel say–like hell we will go as cannon fodder without armor.

In general, it seems as if someone from among the HQ generals placed a bet that [Ukrainian servicemen] would take Avdiyivka. Or [they] promised victory to the President.

And the fact that 2/3 of the personnel would fall to their death, is fucking irrelevant.

I am becoming more and more motivated to open a second front. And begin to clobber these staff assholes, who wage [their] battles on [paper] maps.
