Censor.NET just contacted the person from Sloviansk who is on the street outside the City Police Department [CPD], and who managed to talk with policemen from the seized CPD. Here is what he said:
“Horotdel MIA Sloviansk [CPD of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine] was captured by an army reconnaissance team of up to 30 people, who came to the city after a ground forced march – their uniforms and shoes are quite dirty. Their soldiers are acting as a coherent military unit, they are armed with machine guns with underbarrel grenade launchers, that [Ukrainian] police do not have in service – thus, they could not have captured [the weapons] but rather brought them from somewhere else themselves. The City PD police did not dare to use their weapons. They received information about the saboteurs’ arrival 15 minutes before the storm, and so they barricaded themselves. The saboteurs approached [the CPD] openly, and started throwing [military] firecrackers. They tore out the window grid with a truck, and calmly seized policemen and their armory. 30 locals wearing identifiable St. George ribbons, who joined them after the CPD attack, got the police guns. The linear police department and the State Guard Service of Sloviansk show no activity. The CPD is located on the main street of Sloviansk, there are crowds of onlookers there around the clock – between 500 to 1,000 people. Only the Sloviansk mayor [Nelya] Shtepa and employees of companies, which belong to City Council members from the Party of Regions, are currently active in their support of saboteurs. [Ukrainian] special forces have not arrived in Sloviansk yet. Obviously, this was a planned act of sabotage. We will continue to observe the situation.”
