  1. Lorren Hammond says:

Serhiy Viktorovych, I did not know you, and I am poorer for that. It would be a great honor to have been able to call you friend. From the United States, I salute you, your steadfast loyalty to Ukraine, and this greatest of sacrifices that a man can make for his nation, his family, and for himself. You and your fellow unyielding Ukrainian soldiers in Crimea are the true blood of Ukraine, your steadfast loyalty the rock upon which her new future will be built. It is men like you who show us all the way to live with pride, honor and humility, and, if we must, to die for that which we believe to be right, beyond our personal safety, comfort or profit.

I stand in your honor, and, with all those everywhere who dream of a better future for Ukraine, I weep for your loss.
