Semyon Semyonchenko: To the people of Ukraine

By Semyon Semyonchenko, Commander of the volunteer Donbas Battalion, representative of the “Samopomich Association Party” [“Self-Reliance”].

To the people of Ukraine:

Yesterday the CEC [Central Election Commission] declared me an elected MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine [Ukrainian Parliament].

Under the law, the CEC, no later than the 5th day following [election result] tabulation, must officially disclose [the results] in the parliamentary newspaper “Voice of Ukraine” and the government newspaper “Governmental Courier.”

After the official announcement of election results, elected MPs must submit to the CEC within 20 days a document on exemption from office, if incompatible with the deputy
mandate.

I thank the people of Ukraine for their great confidence [in me].

I am not a soldier, I’m passing the reserve service of the National Guard of Ukraine [NGU] and am a reservist who does not receive payment for their service.

Currently, the Donbas battalion holds combat coordination for their service in the area of the ATO [anti-terrorist operation]. I, as the battalion commander, will do my best to prepare reservists to perform their duties.

In this crucial and difficult time for the country where there is a real threat of aggression, it is my duty to be with the Donbas Battalion in the area of the ATO.

By 1 December, depending on the situation at the front, I will announce the passage of further service or performance of duty as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine under the Law of Ukraine: “On the Status of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine.”

Slava Ukraini! [Glory to Ukraine!]

Major in the reserve of the NGU, Commander of the 2nd Battalion of the National Guard, special purpose “Donbas,”
Semyon Semyonchenko

PS – All that I think about our struggle and relationships with the political leadership of the country:

Yury Kasyanov: The premonition of a great war.

By Yury Kasyanov, Armiya SOS volunteer activist
10.31.2014
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

The premonition of a great war. The closer it is to the front, the stronger it is. The stronger the feeling, the sharper the contrast with the real state of affairs. No visible signs of the promised layered defense, no solid front line. The troops are still fragmented—from one junction to another; a hodge-podge—detachments of brigades are scattered from north to south, and thoroughly mixed, as if on purpose… Manageability of the troops is bad, coordination between the departments and between different branches of service is awful, the unified command commands only on paper, surveillance is almost absent, and the military officers struggle to find their dependents along the whole front.

There are no mobile and well-armed battalion tactical groups that would be capable of carrying out offensive operations, crushing the enemy forces, and acting independently. Not enough long-range ammunition for artillery, and the artillery itself, just like the rest of the military equipment, is mostly defective. As before, the main instrument of communication and control in the war is the mobile phone…and the worst thing, our commanders are still the same—generals from the time of the surrender of Crimea, the “heroes” of Ilovaisk, the architects of the “deblockade” of the 32nd Checkpoint, and the impending surrender of the 31st, 30th, 29th…

They are getting ready for war. Creating mobile strike groups from regular Russian detachments and mercenaries, concentrating them on the direction of impact, “stealing” bridgeheads, harrying our units with constant shelling; carrying out reconnaissance-in-force, sending in sabotage and recon groups, carrying out subversive work…

The war will happen. It seems inevitable. Whether we want it or not—does not matter. Putin has his own plans. Most likely, they will strike from Volnovakha towards Berdyansk, punching through a land corridor to Crimea; and from Bryanka towards Lysychansk, with the consequent encirclement of our northern group in Shchastya, and the central one in Debaltseve. They are unlikely to attack head-on; the battle for Donetsk airport is not only an exhibition of courage and the resilience of our fighters, but also a way to pull in, to tie down our forces. For the same reasons they are shelling and attacking Mariupol, Debaltseve, Shchastya. The offensive should be expected at other parts of the front…

We are for “peace.” We are not responding adequately. Not defending our positions. Losing people. Negotiating prices for gas. Agreeing to pay the “debts”… after they took Crimea from us and destroyed most of the industry in the east. After they killed so many of our people. On the eve of a new offensive. One step away from the loss of Ukraine’s freedom and independence.

Dmitry Tymchuk: Military Updates, 11/10

information_resistance_logo_engDmitry Tymchuk, Head of the Center for Military and Political Research, Coordinator of the Information Resistance group
11.10.2014
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

Operational data from Information Resistance:

Russian-terrorist forces stepped up the intensity of attacks on ATO [anti-terrorism operation] forces, due to the arrival of another so-called “humanitarian” convoy of ammunition, weapons and manpower.

In particular, for the past 24 hours, 65 attacks have been recorded.

Of these, 32 fired in the Debaltseve direction. In the areas of Donetsk and Luhansk  13 and 6 fire strikes, inflicted by Russian forces and terrorists, were recorded respectively.

The positions of our troops near the settlements of Olkhovatka, Chornukhyne, Nikishyne, Ridkodub, Leninske, Mius, Trokhizbenka, Pisky and others, also underwent shelling.

Operational data from Information Resistance:

To the last appeal of OSCE representatives requesting a meeting and expert consultations with the coordinators of “IR” [Information Resistance] we gave the following reply (please consider it an official waiver on our part from contact with this organization, with whom we have cooperated from the spring of 2014):

“Thank you for the invitation. However, in view of recent events (referring to the report of OSCE observers regarding deaths of people near the school №63 in Donetsk by gunfire, and previously occurring cases of cooperation between the OSCE and terrorists’ activities in favor of the Russian Federation aggressor), we, ie. the group “Information Resistance,” are forced to abandon contacts with representatives of your organization. We appreciate the efforts and activities of the OSCE representatives from European countries. However, while the OSCE widely represented the citizens of Russia, the organization, to our deep regret, very often serves as a cover for the aggressive plans of Russia against Ukraine. In view of this, we believe it impossible to continue to work with this organization.”

Invasion of Ukraine: Almost all the troops which stood near the Ukrainian border have entered Donbas.

By the Anti-Terrorism Center (ATC)
02.11.2014
Translated by Yulia Nesterenko and edited by Voices of Ukraine

According to the intelligence headquarters of the Anti-Terrorism Center (ATC), the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation has practically taken place.

As reported in the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorism Center, the latest figures for the past two days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine have acquired a full-scale character. Across the border of the Russian Federation, thousands of soldiers and hundreds of pieces of equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles and air defense systems have been deployed.

“To say that Russia sent troops – is to say nothing. For the past two days, the number of Russian military equipment and personnel of the Russian Federation army in Donbas increased tenfold. According to preliminary calculations, the majority of the forces of the Russian army, which had stood on the border with Ukraine, that is, near the areas controlled by the militants, entered Donbas. This is thousands of soldiers and hundreds of units of equipment.

Now, according to intelligence, the equipment is dispersed on the marches towards Mariupol, Debaltseve, Luhansk. The divisions of the Russian army who have entered the cities have no insignia. That is, factually, Russia practically marched its army into Donbas,” it was stated at the headquarters of the ATC.

It was also emphasized, that all military column movements by the Russian Federation army are recorded by Ukrainian intelligence to provide evidence of the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine.

It should be recalled that the first portion of the Russian armored vehicles was deployed near Donetsk three days ago.
