I am a Ukrainian who has lived in the United States of America since I was 5 years old. I am also a United States Marine for 22 years. I send my respect and brotherly greeting to the Ukrainian Marine brothers who stand in courageous opposition to the cowardly actions of the Russian invaders. Браття [Brothers], you have my admiration and you are in my daily prayer. May God grant you strength, mercy, and honor in your heroic resistance in support of freedom for our Батьківщина [Homeland]. The words of the Ukrainian Partisan Army, УПА [UPA], will inspire your courage, honor, and commitment and I leave you with the U.S. Marines’ motto: Semper Fidelis – Always Faithful.

Выражаю свое уважение и братское приветствие братьям – украинским морякам, которые отважно противостоят трусливым действиям российских оккупантов. Братья, я вами восхищаюсь, и я каждый день молюсь о вас. Пусть Бог пошлет вам силу, милосердие и честь в вашем героическом сопротивлении в поддержку свободы нашей Батьківщини. Слова Украинской партизанской армии, УПА, вдохновят вас на отвагу, честь и преданность. И напоследок лозунг морпехов США: Semper Fidelis – Всегда преданный.

Dearest Beautiful, Strong, Steadfast Crimean Ukrainian Heroes!
I am a Ukrainian who was born in New York City and have lived in Canada and the United States of America. I am a citizen of both countries. I am currently living in Toronto, Canada. I am the daughter of Ukrainian parents who as children escaped WW2 through Displaced Persons camps in Germany and immigrated through Ellis Island to the USA. I know through their experiences what it means to be occupied and running, in war. I send my deep respect and greetings to all of you Ukrainian Marines, Navy and military brothers and sisters who stand courageously to resist and oppose the cowardly actions of the Russian invaders. You have my admiration and you are in my daily prayers. May God grant you strength, mercy, and honor in your heroic resistance in support of freedom for our beautiful people and country.
I am currently translating information about you that we receive into English and blogging it (Voices of Ukraine blog), with others, to let the whole world know what is happening in Crimea and in Ukraine. Please know that many people in the Western world are deeply impressed by your patience, your courage, your perseverence, your calm, your dignity in the face of this insane illegal invasion. We go to sleep praying for you every night and wake up looking for news of you in the morning. We are collectively holding you in our hearts and willing your safety and your continued positive morale. YOU ARE NOT ALONE THERE!!!! We are with you in every thought throughout every day. Please know this, even though you must feel very cut off. And no matter how this turns out, know that the majority of the western world is completely impressed by what you do and very aware of what is really going on Crimea and Ukraine. Most sane people here do not believe Russian lies and disinformation. Keep going. Stand strong. Stand proud. Take faith that you are setting an example for the whole world! The world is watching. And we will tell your story and make sure you are heard, and that it is told right. You make all of us proud to be Ukrainian. You make our voices louder by your actions and your beauty. People, you are beautiful. We love you.

Я украинка, родившаяся в Нью-Йорке и жившая в Канаде и в Соединенных Штатах Америки. Я гражданка обеих этих стран. Сейчас я живу в Торонто (Канада). Я дочь родителей-украинцев, которые, будучи детьми, сбежали от ужасов Второй мировой войны в лагерь для перемещенных лиц в Германии, а потом иммигрировали в США через остров Эллис. Из их опыта я знаю, что значит находиться в оккупации, в бегах, в состоянии войны. Выражаю свое глубочайшее уважение и приветствую всех вас – украинских пехотинцев, моряков, военных, братьев и сестер, которые отважно противостоят трусливым действиям российских оккупантов. Я восхищаюсь вами, и каждый день о вас молюсь. Пусть Бог пошлет вам силу, милосердие и честь в вашем героическом противостоянии в поддержку свободы нашего прекрасного народа и нашей прекрасной страны.
Сейчас я занимаюсь переводами на английский язык информации о вас, которую мы с коллегами получаем из разных источников, после чего публикуем ее на блоге Voices of Ukraine, чтобы весь мир узнал, что происходит в Крыму и в Украине. Вы должны знать, что множество людей на Западе чрезвычайно впечатлены вашим терпением, вашей отвагой, вашей настойчивостью, вашим спокойствием, и вашим достоинством перед лицом этого безумного и незаконного вторжения. Мы молимся за вас каждый вечер перед сном, а каждое утро сразу после пробуждения мы проверяем новости про вас. Все мы бережем вас в наших сердцах и желаем вам безопасности и сохранения высокого боевого духа. ВЫ ТАМ НЕ ОДНИ!!!! Мы мысленно с вами каждую секунду каждого дня. Пожалуйста, помните об этом, хоть вы и чувствуете себя сейчас отрезанными от внешнего мира. И чем бы все это ни закончилось, знайте, что большинство людей на Западе поражены вашими действиями и знают, что на самом деле происходит в Крыму и Украине. Большинство здравых людей здесь не верят российской лжи и дезинформации. Так держать. Держитесь стойко. Держитесь с гордостью. Верьте в то, что вы являетесь примером для всего мира! Весь мир наблюдает за вами. И мы расскажем вашу историю и убедимся в том, что она будет рассказана правдиво и вас услышат. Благодаря вам, все мы гордимся тем, что мы – украинцы. Вы придаете нашим голосам силу своими действиями и своей красотой. Люди, вы прекрасны. Мы любим вас.
