Maksym Shimko

“Max is a good Kozak, he actively participates in historical reconstruction -“Viking.” We always met at festivals: Sheshori, Mlynomaniya, Live Fire, we sat in a big circle. Maksym is not aggressive by nature, but he has a great Kozak Warrior’s soul. I currently believe that he is continuing his Kozak service under the guidance of Archangel Michael,”- such fond memories of his brother MAKSYM SHYMKO are retold by Sergei Zhuk. He speaks of him not in the past, but in the present tense, because, really, he and all the heroes of Heaven’s Hundred for us WERE not, they ARE and WILL BE. Eternal Memory!

He died on the barricades from sniper bullets.

An unidentified man without documents, with only a train ticket to Vynnitsia, was found among the dead, stated a Ternopil reporter for 20minut.ua. A photo of the murdered citizen of Vinnytsia was placed on the site to find his relatives. In a few hours, it turned out that 33-year-old Maksym Shimko had been killed in Kyiv.

Maksym’s last post on his social network, which he posted on February 18, was:

“For Ukraine!!!!!! Anyone who can, go to Kyiv!!”

Reenactors’ sacrifice for the Euromaidan in Ukraine

We thanked and praised the Reenactors for their great and touching contribution to the Euromaidan protest. Now with terrible sadness we learned that one of them was shot dead during Black Thursday, on February 20, 2014.

Maksym Shimko, a 33-year-old citizen from Vinnytsia, was a member of the historical reenactment group “White Wolf.”

He is now with the “Heaven’s Company,” together with all the fallen heroes of Euromaidan, watching over Ukraine and, we are sure, over all of Europe from heaven. Glory to all the Heroes! Slava Ukraini, Heroyam Slava!
