We are fighting for our rights, for a lawful government, a government that will listen to its people, that will be in partnership with them, that will hear the people. For order, a change of government, for a just government, and normal civilized relations.
Roman Tochyn was 44 years old. He lived in Khodoriv, a small town in the Lviv oblast. He was an active participant in the protests since the very first days of Maidan. He was a Maidan Self-Defense Squad Commander, as well as a supporter of the All-Ukrainian Association “Svoboda.” Roman left for Kyiv on December 1, 2013.
Before the revolution, Roman stayed at home and took care of his ill mother, who suffers from diabetes. His wife Lilia was a sole breadwinner, and Roman received a treatment allowance for his mother.
During recent events on Maidan, Roman had to return home once when he became ill. He spent five days at home, just enough to get the medical care he needed, and went back to Maidan. Roman leaves behind his wife Lilia, two daughters aged 20 and 14 years of age, and his mother.
