No lights on Maidan

As stated by a UNIAN correspondent, at particularly the upper exit to the “Khreschatyk St” metro station, on Instytutska Street, the street lights are not working, as well as no lighting on the buildings of the October Palace, the Conservatory, the Housing Federation of Trade Unions, and the post office. Several lights illuminate the area near the hotel “Ukraine,” and the upper part of the shopping center “Globus.” At the same time, the Independence statue is illuminated from the home of the Conservatory. Protesters using gasoline fueled generators illuminate the barricades on Instytutska Street and part of the tent city.

At the same time on Khreschatyk, from the Independence Square in the direction of Bohdan Khmelnitsky Street, the outdoor lighting works. On the main square of the capital at this time are nearly 5,000 people. It is expected that in 19 hours, opposition leaders Yatsenyuk, Vitali Klitschko and Oleg Tyahnibok will speak on the Maidan stage.
