Dmitry Tymchuk: If We Buy Coal from the Terrorists, We Might As Well Be Supplying Them With Weapons

The media reports that the Head of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration [Olexander] Kikhtenko sees no alternative to negotiating purchases of coal in the Donbas territories controlled by terrorists. “We have a serious problem, for example, with the Sloviansk thermal power plant. Their boilers are designed to use only one coal grade, namely, “A” – anthracite. It is only mined in the territory that is temporarily controlled by the “DNR” [Donetsk People’s Republic] and the “LNR” [Luhansk People’s Republic]. There is no other place where we could get this coal; it simply does not exist,” Kikhtenko said. He also suggested we “directly negotiate with the leadership of the “DNR” and the “LNR” and “conclude legitimate agreements.”

If the esteemed Mr. Governor is really convinced that Donbas is the only place in the world containing anthracite deposits (while, China, for instance, has larger anthracite reserves than Ukraine) – that is a truly revolutionary geological discovery. That is worth at least a doctoral thesis.

But I have another question for General Kikhtenko. General, sir, do we really have to go through the hassle of supporting the terrorists in this roundabout fashion and actually give them money – or can we just supply them with weapons and ammunition, in exchange for coal? Come to think of it, [Russian President] Putin will be very grateful for that. Unlike our guys, who are spilling their blood every day fighting the scum that the Donetsk governor is suggesting we finance (which, by the way, is punishable by 8 to 10 years [in prison] under a very specific article of the current Criminal Code of Ukraine).

And one more question: what should we say to our Western partners? The same ones we addressed with angry demands to impose sanctions against the Kremlin for the latter’s support of the terrorists – the very same terrorists we are so eager to support now? Was that our clever ploy to eliminate Moscow as a competitor?

If I were Mr. Kikhtenko, I would bring this issue before the Cabinet of Ministers, and look for acceptable options, rather than being in such a hurry to trade with the terrorists. These “suggestions” have a very nasty smell.

Ukrainians, Olexander Kikhtenko is an ordinary liar and obviously corrupt man, who works for his own interests and interests of terrorists. Donbass is not the only location in the Europe and on the world with coal grade, namely, “A” – anthracite. In Europe and in the world is a lot of locations of anthracite, where can Ukraine buy this grade of coal. Ukraine should never buy coal or anything else from terrorists despite the low price and so finance them, but rather must completely financially isolate them. Your President and Government can not allow this act.
