On January, 24 an action of solidarity with the Ukrainian people took place near the Ukrainian Embassy building in Tel Aviv. More than 70 activists from different Israeli cities came to protest against dictatorship and political repressions. Participants of the picket, that was held simultaneously near the Embassy building and on the opposite side of the street chanted, “No to state terror!”, “Freedom to political prisoners!” Away with criminal regime!”, “Blood is hard to wash away!”, “Eternal memory to the heroes!”, “People of Ukraine will win!”, “Freedom can’t be stopped!”, “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!”, and sang the national anthem of Ukraine. The manifestants held posters in Hebrew, Russian, Ukrainian and English.

During the action, photos of the dead participants of civil protests in Kyiv were hung on the fence of the embassy. The activists lit candles near the portraits and commemorated the victims of police terror with a minute of silence. Opposite the Embassy building the picketers stretched the seven-meter-long banner of black cloth spattered with red paint that symbolizes the blood of the fallen. “Blood is shed in the Ukrainian capital, law enforcement officers beat, torture and kill the participants of the protests. The world mustn’t be silent”, said an organizer of the event. “It is an action against violence, an action to commemorate the fallen and an action of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”
