#Maidan Diary: UKRAINIAN AUTHORS CAN’T COMPLY with Dictatorship Bill and WILL TURN THEMSELVES IN TODAY

Statement from Ukrainian authors, who will turn themselves in to authorities on January 18 (today) for noncompliance with new laws.

“We, Ukrainian authors, are very law abiding citizens. Honestly, we can’t live without helmuts on our heads and without driving in columns of 5 cars. So, on Saturday, we will ourselves come to the Lukyanivka jail, having broken all the possible norms of the “Koesnichenko-Oliynyk law.” And we will be demanding to be arrested for this. After all, the place of an artist is in jail, and this honorable tradition can be traced from Shevchenko to Stus,” — according to the statement.
