Recently some EuroMaidan activists launched a special humor Facebook page “Bimba” about the Russian-born Ukraine’s Prime Minister Nikolaj Azarov, who can’t speak proper Ukrainian for many years (despite the law for high officials), and still speaks Ukrainian with the strong Russian accent.

In recent days PM commented the wave of anonymous calls to police about possible planting of explosives in Kyiv metro, and instead of proper saying the word “bomba” (bomb – in English), he said this word in the absolute wrong way both for Russian and Ukrainian. It forced EuroMaidan activists to launch the above mentioned FB-page “Bimba” with many humor images of PM Azarov with his “bomb”.

In social media some of EuroMaidan activists suspected that false calls about bomb plantings is actually the government initiative to switch attention and threaten many to join street protests. One of them said:

“You might have heard, and if you haven’t I will tell you: Ukrainian government spreads every now and then (false!) information that subway stations, airports, train stations and so on have been mined just to close people in or not to allow them free movement through the streets. The silliness of this situations has led to this meme (there are so many more ). The joke is also about the fact that our president and prime minister can’t talk proper Ukrainian and they constantly make gross mistakes. …which is not to suggest that any of the two can speak Russian reasonably well… so they basically speak no language… that must be the true reason that they don’t get the Majdan demands! This would make sense.”
