As a symbol of Maidan, he was being hunted throughout all of the “Ilovaisk boiler.” Parasyuk outsmarted terrorists, the GRU of the Russian Federation, and escaped from captivity.

Volodymyr Parasyuk, Commander of the 4 companies of the Dnepr Battalion, returned from captivity. He was wounded in the head by shrapnel and suffered a concussion. Parasyuk is now in the hospital. Deputy Chairman of Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration, Boris Filatov, wrote about this on his Facebook page:

Another story of this war.

Vova [nickname] Parasiuk – Maidan hero and a symbol of resistance, was wounded in the head by shrapnel and was shell-shocked.

He was taken prisoner by Russian military personnel.

He was submitted to Chechens. They tried to humiliate him. They [tried to] tear off his Orthodox cross. Vova did not let them. Said his mother gave it to him.

Then the Chechens returned him to the Russian paratroopers. They took him to RUSSIA!

There he was interrogated by the HRU [Main Intelligence Directorate]. And they did not understand who he is!

Vova outsmarted them!

Vova was then returned back to Ukraine and handed to the DNRer’s [Donetsk People’s Republic people]. They, too, did not understand who they had met and gave him back to our own.

Vova is sleeping now. He’s doing well.

And … I can see the day when from Russians in Russia Kadyrovtsi will again pluck crosses …

Although a cross on them, it seems, is long gone …

Glory to the Heroes of Ukraine, who died at Ilovaisk.

This is Volodya. Thank you for your support and prayers. Through your faith and God’s grace I came back alive.

Now with my family I’m going to Lviv. I cannot believe that in a few more hours I’ll be home.
