Today, on August 23, at a border detachment near Bilovodsk of Luhansk Oblast [region] in the direction of the village of Derkulivske, there was an attempted breakthrough by a subversive group from the Russian Federation [RF]. A group of subversives was fired at by [Ukrainian] border guards, they [the Russians] were forced to retreat. One of the Russian commandos was wounded and left a backpack on the battlefield. In the backpack, [the Ukrainian servicemen] found a night vision sniper scope, a uniform, gloves, a Balaklava, a climber cord, two packs of ammunition (pictured).

Also in the area of the towns of Pobeda and Ulyanivske, a convoy of up to 5 infantry fighting vehicles and up to 20 trucks crossed the state border of Ukraine from the RF. However, the terrorists encountered resistance from the Ukrainian border guards, who entered into combat with the violators.

It is learned from sources close to the terrorist nicknamed Chechen, the units of Kadyrov mercenaries that are currently deployed on the territory of Ukraine, are undergoing additional training following the failure of an anti-terrorist operation in South Ossetia. Several shortcomings in the training of mercenaries were found.

Today, the army aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a series of missions to evacuate the wounded and deliver humanitarian cargo.

Major efforts of the ATO forces are currently focused on fulfilling the task of isolating the critical area of Horodyshche, along the state border, Izvaryne, Krasnodon, Chervona Polyana, Kolpakovo, Krasnyi Luch, Vakhrushevo, Petrovske, Perevalsk, Zymohirya, Slavyanoserbsk, along the river of Seversky Donets.

Also shelling of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued near the settlements of Chervona Polyana, Zemlyane, Stanichno-Luhanske, Novohryhorivka, Novgorodske, Novoivanivka, and Kuteynekovo.
