Operational data from Information Resistance:

The situation in the ATO zone has become complicated throughout this weekend (September 19-20, 2015). Russian-terrorist troops carried out individual fire attacks on the ATO forces’  positions from small automatic weapons, heavy machine guns, 82 mm mortars, and AGS-17 grenade launchers. Enemy sniper activity has been detected in a number of areas.

Between the settlements of Luhanske and Myronivske, an enemy infantry group up to a platoon in size (20-25 people) shelled a stronghold of the ATO forces from two directions from the greenery.

The positions of the ATO forces to the southwest of Shumy were shelled from heavy machine guns.

Militants used 82 mm mortars and small arms in the area of Mar’inka.

Fire from small arms was recorded on a stretch between Trokhizbenka and Krymske.

Several infantry groups of Russian-terrorist forces, up to 30 people each, moved to the advanced positions in the vicinity of Shchastya.

North of Yasynuvata, the transfer of a terrorist tank unit (eight tanks) was detected.

An infantry unit of militants moved from the Kyivskyi district of Donetsk northward. The convoy included six military trucks with Zu-23-2 anti-aircraft guns and 82 mm mortars mounted on trailers.

Militants continued delivery of ammunition from Starobesheve to the vicinity of Telmanove. During the last 24 hours, the movement of tented army [cargo] trucks with ammunition was observed.

The arrival of a self-propelled artillery unit of terrorists (five units of ACS 2S1 “Gvozdika”) was recorded in the area of Lutuhyne.

An armored group of militants (two Russian BMP-97 “Vystrel” armored combat vehicles and three BTR-80 APCs), accompanied by an infantry platoon in armored vehicles, moved from Luhansk towards Stanytsia Luhanska.

Another trainload with ammunition and equipment from Russia has arrived at the Ilovaisk train station.

The command of “Don,” a Russian mercenary battalion (deployed in Luhansk region) received an order “to second” [to transfer] 190 personnel from their number to the territory of the Russian Federation, for further redeployment to Syria. Only the command and the sniper unit from this battalion remain in Donbas.

Advocates of the captive Ukrainian pilot and MP, Nadiya Savchenko, are preparing for hearings on the merits [of the case], which will begin on Tuesday in Donetsk city court, Rostov region [Russia].  Savchenko’s lawyer Mark Feygin informed Ukrinform of this.

“Tomorrow’s session, which is to begin at 11:00 am, will be attended by all three of Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyers. One of the main intrigues of the first session – [is] who will be on the panel of three judges. Much will depend on its composition and the behavior of the judges,” –stated Feygin.

He said that in Donetsk city court there are only three judges in general – the Chief Justice Ali Khaibulaev, a judge for criminal cases, Leonid Stepanenko who led the previous session, and a civil case judge Eugene Chernish. A possible option is that they will form the panel, but then the city court will have to stop work on other cases for some time. So it’s likely that they will send someone “to enhance” [the panel] from Rostov.

Tomorrow’s session will set the order of evidence. By law, it takes the accusations first, then – the defense. However, the lawyers will petition for Savchenko to be questioned as soon as possible. “Nadiya is ready for this examination and wants it. Her performance at the beginning of the process – [is] our tactical move. We want to deprive the prosecution’s allegations of at least some appearance of truthfulness,” Feygin explained.

In addition, Savchenko’s lawyers insist on questioning the current and former leaders of the “LNR” [“Luhansk People’s Republic”] Igor Plotnitsky and Valery Bolotov.

Mark Feygin said that tomorrow’s session will be open, it will be attended by diplomats and journalists, and Vira Savchenko [Nadiya’s sister].

Recall that Russia accused Savchenko of “murder” and “attempted murder.” The Ukrainian pilot and prisoner denies all the charges, since last summer’s terrorist force [kidnapped and] transported her to Russia and handed her over to law enforcement there.

Operational data from Information Resistance:

The situation in the ATO zone can be characterized as relatively calm – only one instance of small arms fire by militants was observed [during the last 24 hours]. Russian-terrorist forces are actively conducting reconnaissance of the ATO forces’ combat positions using various methods – sabotage and reconnaissance groups, UAVs, and optoelectronic devices.

The so-called state security authorities of the “LNR” and “DNR” [Luhansk and Donetsk Peoples’ Republics’] terrorist organizations are questioning local residents who had traveled to the territories under Ukraine’s control regarding the location and movements of Ukrainian troops, checkpoints, and fortified areas of the ATO forces.

Illegal armed groups carry out engineering and sapper work in their rear, equipping the second tier of defense.

Terrorists carried out chaotic fire on the neutral zone in the vicinity of Lozove (Artemivsk direction of operation). In addition, movement of infantry groups was observed at the front line: in the area of Shchastya and in the bend of the Seversky Donets river.

The active movement and relocation of illegal armed groups (both in the front line and in the tactical rear of the terrorists) were detected in the coastal areas, from the settlement of Hranitne towards Mariupol.

The rotation of army (military) intelligence units of the Russian Armed Forces continues into its second week. These units are responsible for carrying out “mop-up” of the command corps in the so-called “militia” in order to establish full control of Russian security services and the General Staff over the armed gangs.

Terrorists blocked the dam on the Kalmius river in the Starobesheve district in order to lower the water levels in the Pavlopilske reservoir located on the Novoselivka–Chermalyk–Pavlopil–Pyshchevyk demarcation line. Falling water levels expose all fords in the river, which would allow the enemy to cross the basin at this section of the front.

A tank unit of militants (six tanks) arrived in Sakhanka to reinforce a mixed company deployed in the area.

In the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk, terrorists carried out redeployment and shifted the positions of mortar detachments (82 mm mortars and 100 mm “Rapira” cannons).

In the area of Sanzharivka, militants equipped mortar positions (a battery of 120 mm mortars).

An armored group of terrorists (four BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, and two APCs: BTR-70 and BTR-80) arrived to Perevalsk from Luhansk.

An accumulation of combat armored vehicles with the insignia of the Russian Armed Forces was detected in the town of Oleksandrivka in the Volnovakha district.

The so-called “government” of the terrorist organization “DNR” is attempting to “legitimize” properties located on the occupied territories. On September 12, a “notary” office opened its doors; it is staffed mainly by new personnel undergoing on-the-job training. Notarial registers will presumably launch in November–December of 2015. To ensure the functioning of notaries and offices of civil registration of the so-called “Justice Ministry of the DNR” between October and December of 2015, the “DNR” leader [Aleksandr] Zakharchenko signed Order #166 from 09.08.15 on the production of standard [official] document forms. The draft law of the “DNR” “On Notary Services” is [currently] under consideration by the so-called “People’s Council of the DNR.” The plan is to manufacture 139,800 blank forms and 19,700 (civil) property registration blanks, to be used in notary services.

Operational data from Information Resistance:

The situation in the ATO zone has been relatively stable during the last 24 hours. Shellings by Russian-terrorist forces were observed in Artemivsk and Luhansk areas (only small arms were used).

Russian-terrorist forces continue regrouping their forces, transferring material and supplies to deployment sites, and equipping [combat] positions. In addition, enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups are active in their attempts to identify the ATO forces’  defensive positions.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy moved a self-propelled battery of 2S1 “Gvozdika” howitzers (five units), and a mobile reconnaissance and command unit mounted on a lengthened MT-LB chassis towards the settlement of Snizhne.

An armored group (eight armored combat vehicles, including BMP-1 IFV and two MT-LB) arrived in Lutuhyne.

Reinforcements (120 personnel) reported to the so-called Motorized Infantry Brigade of the “1st Army Corps” (of the “DNR” [Donetsk People’s Republic]) stationed in Horlivka.

In Donetsk, the security of the administrative buildings that house the so-called “state authorities” of the “DNR” terrorist organization has been dramatically tightened.

A militant infantry unit (up to a company in strength) arrived to join the gang operating in the area of Krasnohorivka and Mar’inka.

An accumulation of civilian vehicles with armed men in military uniforms has been observed in borderland areas, namely near the “Dolzhanskyi” checkpoint and the settlement of Amvrosiivka.

The movement of a militant mortar battery (2B9 mortars “Vasilek”) has been observed in the vicinity of Sakhanka.

Operational data from Information Resistance:

The overall situation in the ATO zone retains a tendency to escalate. The reasons for this are armed provocations and shelling of the Ukrainian troops’ positions by the Russian and terrorist forces, as well as the revitalization of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group forces in the rear of the ATO.

The latter [enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups] create minefields and collect information about the positions of the ATO forces and their fortifications systems, particularly in the so-called second line of defense. For the most part, militant DRG [sabotage and reconnaissance groups] engage in combat only when detected.

Noteworthy is the Russian-terrorist forces’ increased mining of a number of sites in the tactical area; they are also refreshing minefields they had laid earlier.

Russian-terrorist troops fired at the Ukrainian troops’ advanced positions using automatic weapons, heavy machine guns, AGS-17 grenade launchers, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, and 82 mm mortars. The use of the latter was recorded in the coastal areas, where the enemy opened fire from 82 mm mortars in the areas of Hnutove, Mykolaivka, and between the towns of Pavlopil and Chermalyk.

Near the town of Zaitseve, [enemy forces] continue shelling the ATO positions with small arms, including AGS-17. Near the town of Mar’inka, the opponent used 82 mm mortars and heavy machine guns, and between the towns of Toshkivka and Shumy, fire from a Zu-23-2 anti-aircraft twin-barreled auto-cannon installation was recorded. In the vicinity of the towns of Popasna and Katerynivka, small arms fire was opened on our troops from the “greenery.” Near Luhansk, at least 2 groups of snipers are firing on our positions from the “greenery” in the neutral zone.

Enemy DRG [sabotage and reconnaissance groups] have become more active in areas between the towns of Novhorodske and Shumy, Vesela Hora and Shchastya.

The enemy continues moving troops and equipment, delivering materials and supplies to the places of their deployment, and fortifying their positions:

– A new division of militants arrived in Donetsk from Shakhtarsk – 3 buses with armed terrorists and two “KAMAZ” army trucks;

– In the area of the “Stirol” plant in Horlivka, a tank company of militants accompanied by an MT-LB, two “KAMAZ,” and Gas-66 was recorded moving in the direction of the contact line;

– An armored group of terrorists arrived Near the town of Olenivka – four T-72 tanks and two BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles;

– In the northern part of Luhansk, militants are equipping a military camp to accommodate, as a minimum, a regiment’s worth of staff;

– To the south of Trokhizbenka, militants withdrew from previously prepared positions (the positions were equipped with a battery of D-30A howitzers).
