Vira, the sister of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko who is being forcibly held in Russia – hopes that on October 6th she can get permission to visit with her in Novocherkassk prison. Soon there will be another hearing in the case fabricated against the Ukrainian by the repressive Russian system.

Vira Savchenko talked about this in exclusive comments to the Observer.

“Nadiya’s friends, those who received permission to visit her, are now in Novocherkassk. That is, 2 people: the assistant to the People’s Deputy, Oleh Mezentsev, and another friend of Nadiya’s –Valery. While I was flying around the US, the lawyer asked them to go to Nadiya and to support her. What is most lacking for her in jail is some Ukrainianness: our language, food, communication with our people; alhough in Novocherkassk there is more of this than in Moscow, ” – she said.

Vera Savchenko said that Mezentsev was officially formalized as an assistant to the People’s Deputy [Nadiya, who is an MP].

“Oleh is military: he was in the ATO [anti-terrorist operation], fought on Savur-Mohyla. They have corresponded for a long time, but met recently. Once we went together to visit Nadiya. It’s not a romantic relationship, they are just friends. She clings to people from Ukraine like a drowning man clutches at a straw. In meetings it is very noticeable, “- the sister acknowledged.

Operational data from Information Resistance:

The situation in the ATO zone has escalated. In the past 24 hours, repeated shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions (including from on-board guns of armored vehicles and 120 mm mortars) was observed, as well as an armed clash south of Shumy (where a terrorist sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to pass between the ATO forces’ strongholds, but was spotted by battlefield security and, after a 40-minute firefight, retreated into the “greenery”).

At a meeting of the command staff of the so-called “1st Army Corps of the Donetsk People’s Republic” [1st AC DNR], commanders of the illegal armed gangs were given the order to intensify sniper team activity. The terrorists’ prime targets are command staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and [Ukrainian] reconnaissance units.

Between the settlements of Troitske and Myronivskyi, the ATO forces’ positions came under fire from terrorist heavy machine guns and AGS-17 grenade launchers that provided covering fire for snipers. The militants’ sniper unit operating in the vicinity of Mar’inka has also stepped up its activity.

Enemy sabotage and reconnaissance units have become more active across the entire Artemivsk sector, from Shumy and Mayorskiy to Zaitseve and Travneve. Several enemy infantry units are working on de-mining and renewing of minefields in the neutral strip between Hranitne and Mykolaivka.

The commander of the so-called “9th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 1st AC DNR” assembled all company-level officers at Markyne for battalion tactical exercises.

The staff headquarters of the so-called “2nd Army Corps of the Luhansk People’s Republic [2nd AC LNR]” of Russian-terrorist troops has issued a circular about holding combat interoperability exercises for the so-called “territorial defense battalions” by the end of October.

Illegal gang formations deployed near the settlement of Spartak, and in the Kuibyshivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Donetsk are being regrouped. Two battalion-level units (up to 450 personnel) have been pulled back from the front line for restaffing to full strength, while consolidated tactical groups man the advanced positions. Troop replenishment of all armed gangs in these sectors has been made possible by the arrival in Donetsk of 800 servicemen of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.

Two Russian D-30 howitzer batteries (10 guns) and an MLRS battery (six BM-21 “Grad” systems) have been observed on positions located between Telmanove and the state border with the Russian Federation.

In Starobesheve, terrorists are surveying wholesale warehouses and industrial buildings, looking for locations to use as new military depots for the Russian-terrorist forces.

The “territorial defense battalions” of the “LNR” are organizing patrols in the towns of Alchevsk, Stakhanov and Perevalsk.

Dmitry Tymchuk: On the Trilateral Contact Group’s latest Minsk agreement #FreeSavchenko

In Minsk, the Trilateral Contact Group signed an agreement on the withdrawal of guns – with caliber under 100 mm – from the contact line.

This is a game of hide-and-seek with reality, played by the visually impaired in rose-tinted glasses. Or treason. After all, over the past day alone, we recorded the use of 120 mm mortars by the terrorists (and by the way, the use of armored vehicles as well).

Along the entire line of contact, cannon artillery units (122 and 152 mm) and MLRS units are recorded, as well as armored groups of Russian-terrorist forces. On the “front line”, the enemy has more tanks than there are in the armies of many European countries; there is nothing that indicates they are being withdrawn. Even the OSCE SMM recognizes and sees this. So what the hell with the ‘weapons with under 100 mm caliber’?

Trick question: what information is the Trilateral Contact Group (particularly the representatives of Ukraine in it) working with, to accept such decisions and put their signatures [to them]? If they do not have access to objective information about the events in the ATO zone, then they should say so, “We do not know a damn thing, we only watch Putin’s TV, we cannot make objective decisions.” However, if this is a conscious position and an informed decision, then I see no difference between the activities of our “ambassadors” in Minsk and Putin’s “struggle for peace.”

Dmitry Tymchuk: Military update 9.29 #FreeSavchenko

Operational data from Information Resistance:

Russian-terrorist troops in Donbas continue to carry out fire strikes, using small arms and rocket-propelled grenades [launchers] in a number of areas. The enemy has stepped up ground reconnaissance operations at multiple sites. In particular, terrorist subterfuge and reconnaissance groups were recorded in the area of the Butivka mine, and towns of Hnutove, Shchastya, Popasna, as well as between Starohnativka and Hranitne, Sokilnyky and Krimske.

A new armored vehicle group of the Russian-terrorist forces has appeared north of Novoazovsk. This armored group is currently practicing combat interoperability.

[There are] continuing reinforcements of illegal gang personnel stationed between the towns of Obozne and Khrystove. Heavy armour consisting of eight tanks and ten ACVs [armored combat vehicles] is concealed near [civilian] homes.

The commanders of the so-called 1st Army Corp of the “Donetsk Peoples’ Republic” (“1st AC DPR”) of the Russian-terrorist forces are being rotated. A senior Russian military serviceman, major-general of the Russian Federation Armed Forces, alias “Tuman” [or, “Fog”], has taken over the command of this entity. The 100th Brigade of the “1st AC DPR” is commanded by a Russian officer with the call sign “Kupol” [for Cupola, i.e.: “Dome”].

During troop rotation of Russian Federation Armed Forces units in Donbas (and of the “trainers” and “advisors” from among the Russian officer staff), servicemen of the Russian Federation Armed Forces are becoming annoyed because the Russian General Staff has not resolved a number of organizational issues. In particular, when crossing the Russian-Ukrainian border, senior officers (unit commanders) are obliged to independently gain access to authorized FSB employees so as to ensure that Russian border guards do not enter the personal details of these Russian Federation Armed Forces troops into the unified FSB data base (as citizens crossing the border). At the same time, the so-called “DPR border guards ” try to stamp the passports of these Russian “vacationers” as they cross the border, which also causes extreme discontent among them.

There has been a complete replacement of senior management of the urban services and law enforcement in Horlivka. Citizens of the Russian Federation have taken over the positions of town commandant, chief of police, head of education, head of emergency services and others. Information is circulating on the transfer of the city’s large enterprises to the control of the Rostov oblast authorities in the Russian Federation.

A geopolitical mystery.
