Peter Pomerantsev, 11. Juni 2014, “The Atlantic” (Übersetzung)

by Vitalii Usenko and Mat Babiak

As reported by witnesses to InfoResist, two new tanks with a complete set of armaments arrived in the Varna district of the town of Snizhne, Donetsk region, Ukraine. Local residents identified that the crew is from Russia. Details have yet to be specified.

As previously reported by InfoResist, the recruitment of airplane and helicopters pilots and tank crews for T-72 tanks is being conducted through the internet. The T-72 tanks are produced by Uralvagonzavod, Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk region, Russia and are used in the Russian army; Ukraine does not produce or use this model of tanks. In addition to this, the so-called “army of the south-east” is recruiting operators for grenade launchers and flamethrowers, as well as operators of anti-tank rocket complexes, mobile air defense complexes, anti-aircraft rocket complexes, and AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers.

DMITRY TYMCHUK: About the reports on the ATO use of phosphorous bombs and GRAD systems

Dmitry Tymchuk, Coordinator, Information Resistance

06.11.2014
Translated and edited by Voices of Ukraine

information_resistance_logo_engAccording to IR data, Russian media covering the events in Eastern Ukraine, once again resorted to the distortion of facts and the use of videos from many years ago which have no relation to the ongoing anti-terrorist operation [ATO].

Just today, on June 12, 2014, Russian media reported that the Ukrainian security forces allegedly used phosphorous bombs against the civilian population. In support of this [allegation] Russian TV has used footage shot in 2004 in the city of Fallujah, Iraq:

In addition,  Russian media recently reported on alleged facts of Ukrainian forces use of multiple launch rocket systems “Grad” against the peaceful population.

This information is also not true. There is not a single documented fact of the ATO’s use of the “Grad” system.

All of these speculations are all the more surprising, given that Russian troops used “Grad” systems for targeted attacks on cities of Chechnya. As a result, tens of thousands of civilians were killed. These facts are well known to the world community, they are recorded in numerous photo and video materials.

According to ATO participants, it would have been possible to avoid numerous casualties when conducting the anti-terrorist operations.  However, an inside source is continuously releasing information to separatists.

In the capital’s military hospital [in Kyiv] there are currently close to fifty soldiers who were wounded in battles that took place in Slovyansk; and close to thirty more are in hospital in the town of Irpen. Almost all of the soldiers ended up in a hospital after a large-scale operation near Slovyansk, at the beginning of June. At that time soldiers were not even able to enter the city – they were fired on as they approached.

Major Oleksandr Maliarchuk was taking part in the Operation, on 3 June, when his leg was injured by a BTR (armoured transporter). He states that separatists were well aware of the plans of Ukrainian forces: “There are many traitors among Ministry of Defence officials, who…
