Hello my dear friends.
My name is Nick.
I am an ordinary Ukrainian soldier. I am participating in the war in Eastern Ukraine with separatists. At first I was a participant in the Donbas Battalion, now I serve in the Ukrainian Army. The last [most recent] battle I participated in was the battle at Donetsk Airport. That is why I am being honorarily called a “Cyborg.”

Separatists call us Cyborgs because we managed to stand defending airport buildings 24/7. They were amazed by the way we take the battle. Ordinary soldiers, approximately 200 [of us], against thousands of Russian soldiers which mr. Putin claims got lost and somehow appeared near Donetsk Airport buildings in Ukraine, 300 kilometers from Russian border, well-equipped with guns and armour, etc. & suddenly started to shoot at Ukrainians without any reason. Well we started to shoot back. The field nearby the airport buildings is full of dead Russian bodies; city dogs eat their flesh and no one cares. Especially mr. Putin. What can I say? My friends asked me to write some things in English for English speakers. Here I am. Doing what they asked.
I am ready to write more and answer the questions you ask.
Sorry for mistakes.
To be continued.
Sincerely,
Nick.

  3. Mr.Putin is disturbing the world in a very uncivilized manner. He says he is not involved but nobody believes him, except maybe some Russians. Ukraine has the support of the West, I just wish it was a lot stronger. I hope it will be, eventually. Good luck, Nick!!

  6. Well done.We in the free world can only try to understand the hardship and difficulties you and your fellow men have to go through. Our veterans and old soldiers possibly would understand better. We can only do what we can from thousands of miles away.Know that the people of Ukrainian heritage and other freedom loving people are proud of your heroic deeds. We like hearing of your successes (and though we may not like to hear of losses,we accept that we also must hear of them ) in trying to redirect those poor lost tourists from Russia back across the border.Keep writing a often as you can and with pictures (without giving away secrets) and we will try to repost as widely as possible.Slava Heroim/Slava Ukraina !

You can be very proud for that what you do. Defending your country against agressiv russian military strikes on Ukraine. I’m very angry and ashamed about my country (germany) that not support brave ukrainian soldiers with weapons because they defend their great country.

My name is Carl Von Rond and I live in Austin, Texas. I was inspired to write a novel concerning the situation in Eastern Ukraine as a means of exposing your struggle to people in the West, because our media tends to overshadow your struggle with more frivolous topics. Since the downing of flight mh17 in July I have been devouring Ukraine’s history trying to make sense of it all and I pray that I will offer a formidable portrayal of the country. I would like to express my gratitude for your update from the frontline and I wish you and your comrades the best of luck.

A lot of things have been said about Ukraine, Russia, separatists, and so on. Some of them are true some of them aren’t. From the distance, it is difficult to say with 100% certainty what is an absolute truth. Nevertheless, the fact is that it is not Ukrainians who are fighting against Russians in Russia, but quite the opposite – the Russians are invading the Ukrainians as a result of orders which are coming from Kremlin. Unlike Western Europeans, we here in Poland know what it means to be invaded and occupied by the Russian aggressors – maybe this is the reason why we support Ukrainians in their fight for freedom and independence. We know that you are fighting not only for your own country but for ours too. For us, you are heroes as much as our soldiers defending Westerplatte in 1939 – a small military outpost surrounded by German Army which, despite their military power was unable to conquer for a month, although it was supposed to fall in seven days. This is how we – Poles are looking at you – Ukrainian heroes.

  20. Teresa says:

Nick you are a hero!! Be strong, God is with you. We are with you all the way, praying daily for our Ukrainian soliders! Slava Ukrainia!

  21. Roman says:

Support from Czech republic. When we celebrated the 25th anniversary of freedom, people booed our president Zeman and chanted Ukraine. Please do not judge Czech Republic by our politicians, who are controlled by Putin.I remember the shots as battalion pulled out of the barracks. Then I said, lets roll

    • chervonaruta says:

We are honoring you and thanking you for what you and so many other soldiers and volunteers continue to do to preserve the territorial integrity and democratic dignity of Ukraine, Mykola! щиро вдячний!бережи себе!

  22. LukaszK says:

Of course it is no coincidence, as has been widely reported in the UK press. What actually happened was that the UK government vetoed an inquiry because they were still hoping that good relations could be established with Russia. This veto was removed, partially because it was getting politically embarrassing for the UK government to maintain it, but it is also a sign that the UK government have given up on the idea that good relations can be established with Putin. It is now accepted by most Weston leaders that Putin is “a swaggering gangster thug” , as the DT puts it above.
