pr_a8511Yulia Tymoshenko’s appeal to the people of Ukraine:

The fact that today Mykola Azarov resigned and some of the dictatorial laws were annulled doesn’t mean the government is remorseful or the opposition has won. This is the first tangible result of the struggle of all the people who protested across Ukraine and the world and began taking power into their own hands.

The victory that Maidan achieved today is the first successful step. But it’s not enough…

Don’t stop! Carry on! Rely only on yourself and your unity! Triumph fully and conclusively!

If you stop now, without achieving total victory, all the sacrifice that Ukrainians endured in their selfless struggle will have been betrayed.

For days and nights you froze on the maidans, risked your health and lives, lost your best sons – not for Yanukovych to replace Azarov’s government with another, equally corrupt government, and not for bloodied hands to again promise you a happy life.

You rose up in battle for a different Ukraine – one not run by the mafia, criminals and oligarchs.

You rose up to reload this governing system and return Ukraine into your own hands. So do it!

And don’t stop until you achieve this!

If you don’t free Ukraine from dictatorship now, later this will be impossible.

Glory to Ukraine!

With love,

Yulia Tymoshenko
