Ongoing list of Political Prisoners, to date:

On this page we are placing a list of activists whose cases have already been under trial and are known to the public. Unfortunately, some of the trials were a kind of “secret trials” and we know that there are more arrested than provided in this list. Cases are constantly being transferred from one district court to another so that journalists, lawyers, observers and MPs who are trying to help could not reach them on time. No one knows in advance which detainee in which court will be considered. This is done so that the public doesn’t own all necessary information and possible crowds of protesters can’t come to rescue activists. We are trying to get as much information as possible and are constantly updating the list.

1. Volodymyr Karagyaur – journalist in “Spilnobachennya” (“CommonVision”); was arrested at a gas station when buying gasoline for the generator. Art. 294. Dnipro Court – sentenced to two months jail.

2. Alexander Marcus – detained with Karagyaur. Art. 294. Dnipro Court – two months jail.

6. Arthur Kovalchuk – arrested Jan. 20 in the streets of the Lavra by “titushky” taken by them to the police station. Art. 294. Measure – two months jail.

7. Andrew Loza – journalist of the online newspaper “Svoboda”. Detained on Jan. 19 on Hrushevskoho street while running editorial assignment. Art. 294. Shevchenko Court – two months jail.

8. Mychail Alexeev. Darnytzckyi Court – 2 months jail.

9. Oleksander Shkrabak – student of Karpenko-Karyi National University of Theatre, Film and Television; detained on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv, Art. 294 of the Criminal Code. Desnianskyi Court – one month jail.

10. Andrii Kotliar – student of Karpenko-Karyi National University of Theatre, Film and Television; detained on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv, Art. 294 of the Criminal Code. Obolonskyi Court – house arrest for two months.

11. Yurii Hrobust – student of Karpenko-Karyi National University of Theatre, Film and Television; detained on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv, Art. 294 of the Criminal Code. Obolonskyi court – house arrest for two months.

15. Vladyslav Tsilitskyi – Kyiv Pplitechnic University graduate, programmer for Samsung; detained on Hrushevskoho St. Art. 294 of the Criminal Code. Tried in absentia – 30 days of arrest.

16. Jaroslav Voitko – heavily injured on Hrushevskoho St., captured by police in the hospital emergency room (!). Art. 294. Darnytzkyi Court – 2 months jail.

17. Vasyl Slivinskyi (Kalush) – arrested Jan. 22 near the hotel “Dnipro” on the European Square. Obolonskyi Court – house arrest.

18. Victor Davydiak – student from Lviv, strongly beaten. Obolonskyi Court – two months jail.

19. Igor Palekha – Avtomaydan; Obolonskyi Court – two months jail.

20. Nestor Didyk – Avtomaydan; detained by “Berkut”. Obolonskyi Court – two months jail.
