Witness account from Simferopol: what it means to feed the occupiers

My dear readers,

I just remembered a story. At the beginning of the [Crimean] occupation, when Putin abandoned his soldiers, I sincerely felt sorry for those guys. So, I bought Tatar pierogies [stuffed buns] and mineral water, and delivered it to the Russian soldiers. I talked with them for a long time. At the end of our conversation, one of them started crying and told me, “Thank you so much for everything!” His tears deeply touched me, and I decided that he would never shoot a woman. When I came home, I wrote an article about this and posted it to Facebook. By the evening, it had been shared 7,000 times. It had been published in different newspapers and in different languages. Newly registered [on Facebook] Russian women started friending me in packs. They asked me in private, whether it had been their son, if he had had a mole on his right cheek? The next morning, all of the military units were gone. There was no one left in the city. It was the first rotation.

One of my friends argued with me at length about my choice to feed the soldiers, claiming that we shouldn’t feed our occupiers. He constantly reminded me about these stuffed buns. Especially when Crimea suddenly became part of Russia, when battles ensued in Luhansk, Donetsk… and will resume in Odesa at any time. And only now I fully understand what it means to feed the occupiers.

They will gladly eat your food, wipe their mouths, drink some water or beer with it … and they will destroy you with a sense of duty. And there is nothing sacred about them. They came here to kill. This is akin to training a crocodile. No matter how much you feed it, it will attack you as soon as you get into the water. And without exception, all of the traitors of our motherland will line up beside the occupiers. WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS!!!!

I am writing this to accompany my last post, in which I ask the Ukrainian authorities to limit the import of food to Crimea. In response to my post, many people commented that we, Ukrainians, are incredibly kind and emotional. We cannot help but feed people, even if they are occupiers.

Therefore: all of you probably read about compiled lists of Ukrainian patriots, destined for a bitter fate. For now, it only concerns Sevastopol, but lists are being expanded. Generous Ukraine will feed the whole world! Of course! Maybe they will see the light, and the grace of God will touch their hearts after they drink a bottle of beer from Lviv!!!

We are not scared of the Russian Fascists. But we really don’t want to feed them from a spoon. I am asking everyone to share this post. Please relay this information to the Ukrainian Parliament, to the Cabinet of Ministers, and those businessmen who, as it turned out, value money more than honor.

Respectfully,

Zhydo-Banderite and Zhydo-Tatar Liza Bohutska.
