From the night stream in Odesa. An old man with a stick yells while standing over a bloodied kid with Colorado ribbons [black & orange stripes], “Who are you? Where are you from?” The kid sobs and cries in response, “From Odesa!” Old man, “You are lying! We don’t have [people] like you here!” A man standing nearby confirms the brat’s words, “He’s from Odesa! Here’s his passport.” The old man, taken aback, “It cannot be happening! Why were you shooting at me?” –”I didn’t shoot at you!” –”Yes you did! You shot at people! Where did you get this gun from?” –”A captain gave it!” –”What army is the captain [in]?” –”Not from an army, a cop.” The old man steps aside. His face is practically invisible in the darkness, but we can easily imagine what’s going on in his soul… His fellow Odessan, he was given the weapon by his own locals–cops…”
