My fellow Ukrainians!
Our country’s future is at risk. Internal political tension could develop into a continuous conflict and destroy the integrity of Ukraine. The use of force and illegal actions from outside are unacceptable. I believe that peace is the only solution to the crisis.
I urge all Ukrainian citizens to unite for the sake of a unitary, undivided Ukraine. Today, this is by far the most important thing. It is essential to keep a cool head, to not react to provocations and make reasonable, justified decisions.

Ukraine should forget about armaments. The Evil Empire would defeat Ukraine before breakfast. Not one Ukrainian life is worth any number of masked Russian Spetznaz thugs with baseball bats.
Ukraine’s most important economic project should be to convert its entire railway system from the Empire’s 5ft to the European standard (4ft8.5in). This would block any rail-based military invasion of Ukraine from Russia, enable direct and efficient trade with Europe and negate any attempts by the Evil Empire to hold Ukraine to economic ransom. It only needs one destroyer to block the Dnipro River and the port of Nikolayev and another to block Odesa, and up yours Ukraine’s economy. While Ukraine is shackled to the Evil Empire with its railway system it will always be vulnerable to the Evil Empire’s blackmail.
