Kyiv City Hall is nearly empty. Near the entry, an aggressive crowd has gathered, but a small, desperately small crowd. This crowd has no idea what is happening, other than the fact that we have been abandoned.
The Maidan Council UNANIMOUSLY agreed to come to terms with the regime. In case anyone didn’t know, all the decisions of the Maidan Council are made unanimously.
Just now, I met MP Andriy Illiyenko in the empty Column Hall. He said that the opposition is waiting an announcement from the Prosecutor General about an unconditional amnesty. If this announcement does not come, they will take City Hall again. If the announcement is made, the premises will be completely vacated.
He also said that if the opposition unilaterally decides not to vacate the City Council, the regime would begin a wave of massive arrests in the regions.
Last night, the police began searches of private homes outside of Kyiv where the Maidan warehouses are maintained.
Illiyenko says that the EU and the US are putting enormous pressure and forcing the Maidan to be “constructive” and to be prepared to offer concessions.
My wife and I are staying here. Only our own boys can persuade us to leave.
