The situation in Ukraine is at a point of crisis unparalleled in the post-Cold War period. Anti-government protests have spread from the capital Kiev throughout the country, with peaceful protesters caught in violent clashes between violent elements of both government forces and rightist nationalist groups. What is the likely outcome? Does the United States and the West have a moral imperative to intervene and, if so, how? Carnegie Council’s David Speedie poses these and other key questions in a radio interview with Dr. Andreas Umland at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine.
