Dear all,

This is a message from the capital of the largest country in Europe. We are a nation with 600 years of fighting experience for its freedom. We won’t stand the government that’s trying to take our freedom and establish a dictatorship. We were peacefully protesting for two months straight, but the president didn’t want to listen to us. On the 16th of January, the president’s party passed the law which opens incredible possibilities for the police. Now they can arrest and imprison anyone they want, anyone they don’t like, and anyone who’s in the way.

Collecting information on a police officer or judge – receives up to 3 years of imprisonment, group violation of public order – 2 years, defamation (returned to Criminal Code) – 2 years, blocking access to someone’s residence (new criminal norm) – 6 years, driving in columns of more than 5 cars – vehicle and driving license confiscation for two years, a person can be ruled guilty without being present in court. Sounds pretty absurd, right? This is just the tip of the iceberg; you will find more in the attachments.

Of course people went to protest, to fight back. Despite the president’s assurances, riot police use extreme and brutal force to suppress the protest. They know no mercy.

Police use firearms on people armed with sticks. Intentionally shot and beat up press, news reporters and even doctors who are trying to save wounded protesters. This is just some of numbers: more than 30 medical workers shot and beaten, more than 70 journalists shot on purpose, more than 500 protesters are injured, 50 activists kidnapped and 5 are dead. People are being shot, beaten up, raped with knifes and tortured to death.

They brought all police forces to Kyiv in order to suppress this revolution, yeah, it’s not just a protest anymore, but that was not enough. So they are bringing ex-convicts, criminals and people in distress that will do anything for 50 dollars.

We are fighting back, and we have no choice but to win. Everyone who is reading this, I’m asking for your help, please share this information. Ask your friends and family to share this. Address your government or local authorities. Let them know you are not indifferent to all the crimes of Victor Yanukovych and his government. We need EU and USA to impose sanctions on these criminals, freeze their foreign bank accounts and arrest their property. Please act now! #euromaydan, #євромайдан, #евромайдан
