An attempt to set a world record of anthem singing, talks and performances by our favourite artists, singers, writers,… – that’s how this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration on Maidan will look like.
New Year’s Marathon on Maidan will start in the evening and will last through the night. Various renown personalities will take a word and our most beloved artists will perform on stage.
However, the real “headliner” of the Eve should become an attempt to set a world record of anthem singing. Ten minutes before midnight everyone celebrating on Maidan will become a member of a huge choir and will sing together Ukraine’s national anthem.
Experts will also be present to observe and fix the results. An official application to the Guinness Book of World Records has been already submitted.
Come and join Maidan; bring your families and friends. And don’t forget your flashlights, which during this protest have become a symbol of peace and hope.
Hundreds of thousands of peacefully-“minded” flashlights will light and shine on that night. Ukrainians are about to prove that they can unite for a common goal!
From the editors of the blog: This promises to become the best celebration ever!! Who cares now for the old Christmas tree or the ice-skating platform the authorities previosly wanted to instal on Maidan?! Especially if that tree and platfom were to be installed by not-so-gentle hands of police special forces… Flashlights, peace and fun rule 🙂
