Around 15 000 people are standing on Maidan at the moment, opposing “Berkut”, signing songs and calling for peace and quiet. Despite the blocked streets and frost, people continue coming to Maidan.
In contrast to the policemen, the protesters are warming themselves with hot tea and carrying snacks to the ones who stay on the barricades. The policemen are completely unaided with any food and stay alone.

The third hour of the second assault on EuroMaidan is passing. The line of barricades in the Institutska Street is partially disassembled with the help of grinders and “titushkas”; however, people have built the strong frontier. The police and protesters are pushing hard, but the protesters don’t beat any of the policemen who “fell from the formation”. The barricade from the side of the European Square is fully cleared, but the frontier of the Maidan guards is standing near the stage. The protesters at the House of Trade Unions have barricaded the entrances and are holding, no “Berkuts” have come there yet. It is reported that some people are detained. People from all corners of Kyiv are continually coming to Maidan, by cars and on foot. The protesters are chanting “We will not surrender Maidan!” Women, children and priests gathered at the stage.

The barricades on Maidan from the side of the European Square are being demolished by public utilities. The row of “Berkut” is standing along the Institutska street and on the opposite there is standing the row of protesters. Women and elders are gathered near the stage.
It is reported that many people have come just recently and are attempting to join the Maidan protesters. At the moment the number of Maidan supporters is greater than the number of the riot policemen.
Deputies and public figures are addressing the Western leaders from the stage, asking to impose the relevant sanctions on the Ukrainian authorities.
The purposes of the police are still unknown: whether they want to clear some of the barricades, or the whole Maidan.
It is said that the approaches to the city centre are being blocked at present.

Ambulances at: crossroads of Grinchenko and Independence Square; Gorodetskogo and Independence Square; Bogdan Khmelnytsky and Independence Square, near the City Postal Services.
If anyone is injured, they should, if possible, be taken to Mikhaylivska 20B, many ambulances are situated on Mikhaylivska square.
