Opposition leaders said that they signed an agreement with President Viktor Yanukovych so that no more people died in armed clashes and so that Ukraine would not become divided.
“We signed the agreement so that the country wouldn’t become divided… so that we could save people’s lives… so that we could save our country,” Arseniy Yatseniuk told journalists as he left the Presidential Administration building. According to him, this agreement “entails early elections, Yanukovych loses his dictatorial powers, and there will be an international investigation.”
